Recently, Twentyseven Global built a custom mobile app for Kansas City startup Ziyak. The events and entertainment-based mobile app was recently spotlighted on Silicon Prairie News.

The article, written by Christine McGuigan at Silicon Prairie News, explained why and how Ziyak was created.
Ziyak is a mobile app founded by Randy Grommet and Evan Holwick for both Android and iOS that shows users what events are happening in and around their city.
So, how did he come up with the idea for Ziyak?
“I missed a bacon festival,” said Grommet. His loss, a day of missed bacon, became everyone else’s gain as it spurred the idea for Ziyak.
The app notifies its users of nearby concerts, festivals, wine tastings, raves, family events, charity events, restaurant specials and more. The app is useful for both residents and tourists alike who are looking to explore everything a city has to offer.
Ziyak’s mobile app was developed with the help of Twentyseven Global. Ziyak’s founders, who are both Kansas City natives, found Twentyseven Global’s proximity to be very appealing. Since the company was nearby, any problems that came up could be quickly taken care of. That said, what really led Grommet and Holwick to hire the firm was Twentyseven Global’s ability to share their vision regarding Ziyak. “They got our dream, they got the vision from the get go,” said Grommet. “We interviewed many tech companies and they were the one that really kind of jumped on and were enthusiastic about it.”
The app, launched this past January, has reached over 20,000 user downloads to date. While Grommet and Holwick are proud of those numbers, they hope to reach 50 million downloads within the next two years. The partners also have plans for future apps that will be built in partnership with Twentyseven Global.
