U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner (R-Colo.), a member of the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee, is excited to partner with the Colorado Technology Association (CTA) to create the One More Job/One More Innovation Initiative.
According to BizWest, the One More Job/One More Innovation Initiative will collect ideas from the state’s tech community about federal regulations that should be repealed or reworked to spur innovation, create new jobs and tackle any other challenges facing the tech community.
Sen. Gardner said, “Our One More Job/One More Innovation Initiative aims to give the Colorado technology industry a voice at the table in Washington, D.C.” He believes that it’s important that the ideas from Colorado’s technology community help drive the decisions made in Washington, especially now that there’s a new administration and a new Congress. “We must explore opportunities to work together to set a robust agenda,” he explained.
But why Colorado?
InnovatioNews reports that Colorado is home to more than 14,847 electronics and information technology companies and that Boulder and Denver are two of the best cities in which to launch a startup in the United States.
According to Andrea Young, CTA’s president and CEO, “Colorado Technology Association aims to modernize laws as technology evolves and bridge our tech community with policy makers to further advance Colorado’s fast-moving tech ecosystem. This collaborative initiative with Sen. Gardner opens the door for our tech leaders to engage directly with government by providing insight and expertise on what will help them succeed and how to solidify Colorado’s standing as the definitive tech hub between the coasts.”
Members of the Colorado tech community who want to express their interest can contact the Colorado Technology Association. They can send an email with their name and contact information to innovationinitiative@coloradotechnology.org to register to be a part of the feedback process.
